Become an integral part of a small and passionate team of about 5 people working on a unique PC city building game in the style of SimCity and Cities: Skylines. You have the chance to make a significant impact on the final game and on the entire city building genre. The game is based on Junxions which will be releasing 2026, trailer above. Our funding is secured by a major publisher, Hooded Horse, so your job would be stable for the coming years.
We are looking for an experienced 3D Technical Artist for Unity 6.3 using HDRP and ECS that is used to working quickly and efficiently. We seek a long-term collaboration in the form of a full-time position or a per-task contract work. Both fully remote work and on-site office seat in Bratislava are available.
Main Job Description:
- Handling everything related to render pipeline (HDRP)
- Custom shaders through shader graph and HLSL scripts
- PBR materials set-up
- Custom passes
- Setting up post-processing
- Tweaking lighting and shadows, and their transitions
- Implementing GPU instancing, SRP batching, and other graphics optimizations
- Consulting on how to implement relevant features
Example Tasks:
- Terrain grass and biomes
- Weather effects
- Water visuals
- Wind effects
- Specialized in-world UI shaders
- Texture tilling avoidance
- UI blur
- Reflective materials
- LODs, billboarding
- Emergency vehicle lights
- Vehicle headlights, brake lights, turning indicators
Requirements:
- Advanced knowledge of Unity itself: scene, prefab, mesh, material, texture, overall set-up
- Advanced knowledge of Unity HDRP and shader graph
- Knowledge of HLSL
- Knowledge of Unity VFX graph
- Knowledge of optimization methods such as SRP batching and GPU instancing
- General knowledge of 3D software (Blender, Maya)
- General knowledge of 2D software (Photoshop, Substance Painter)
- Basic knowledge of git, branches, pull requests, reverts
- Basic knowledge of C# (necessary for custom passes and such)
- Experience with PBR materials
- Experience with 3D meshes
- Experience with rigging and animations
- Fluent in English (written and verbal) [B2]
- Ability to work without close supervision
- Ability to make own decisions
