Game Lead (Remote)
Laser Focus
Who we are
Laser Focus is a fully remote mobile game studio focused on creating competitive multiplayer games for players around the world.
Our portfolio includes Homerun – Baseball PvP Game, Goal – Football PvP Game, PowerPlay – Ice Hockey PvP Game, Buzzer Beater, Touchdown, and most recently Knights – PvP Game.
We are a small, hands-on team with big ambitions. We believe in extreme ownership, transparency, laser focus, and ambitious growth. We want to build games that can compete globally while staying lean, fast, and highly focused.
The role
As a Game Lead, you will take ownership of one of our games and its results.
You will lead a cross-functional team across game design, engineering, art, QA, and Live Ops, while also staying highly hands-on yourself.
We are looking for someone with strong experience in product and game design who can both lead a team and actively contribute to the product. You should be comfortable designing features yourself, evaluating designs, making product decisions, and working directly with the team to improve the game.
Your main goal is simple: make the game better and grow its revenue and profit.
What you will do:
- Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for one of our games.
- Lead the team and make sure everyone is aligned on what we are building and why.
- Be highly hands-on with product and game design.
- Design features yourself when needed and evaluate designs created by others.
- Make product and design decisions based on player experience, business goals, data, and your own judgment.
- Own the game’s revenue, profitability, retention, and overall performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve the game and turn them into concrete features and experiments.
- Create and maintain the short-, mid-, and long-term roadmap.
- Drive hands-on production and make sure features actually get from idea to release.
- Work closely with engineering, art, QA, and Live Ops to deliver high-quality features.
- Prioritize the team’s work and focus resources on the highest-impact opportunities.
- Identify and remove blockers that prevent the team from moving forward.
- Continuously iterate on the game and improve both the player experience and business results.
- Take full ownership of the game’s outcomes.
What we’re looking for:
- 3+ years of experience in game development, preferably in mobile and/or free-to-play games.
- Proven track record in leadership and owning a game or significant part of a game.
- Strong product and game design mindset.
- You are genuinely hands-on and are comfortable designing, reviewing, and improving features yourself.
- Ability to take an idea from scratch to a shipped feature or product.
- Strong understanding of what makes games fun and commercially successful.
- Ability to balance player experience, business goals, and technical constraints.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Comfortable working autonomously in a fully remote environment.
- Passion for games and ambition to build something exceptional.
- Mindset & expectations
We are looking for someone who:
- Takes extreme ownership — you own the outcome, not just your tasks.
- Is hands-on — you don’t just tell the team what to do; you can jump in and do the work yourself.
- Thinks like a product owner — you care about the game, the players, revenue, and profit.
- Moves fast — you prefer building, testing, and learning over endless discussions.
- Can build from scratch — you are comfortable taking an unclear problem and turning it into a working solution.
- Challenges existing ideas — you are not afraid to say that something can be better.
- Focuses on impact — you prioritize what can make the biggest difference.
- Leads by example — you raise the quality and energy of the whole team.
- Wants to build something exceptional — not just manage an existing process.
What we offer:
- Fully remote work.
- High-trust environment with significant autonomy.
- Opportunity to have a direct impact on games played by players around the world.
- A small, talented, low-ego team where your ideas matter.
- Opportunity to work at the intersection of games, AI, and modern product development.
- No unnecessary bureaucracy — we focus on building great games and getting results.
The opportunity to grow with the company and take on significant responsibility.
